Wilcher sent her label out into the world at the tail end of 2018 with a laser focus. “We create timeless, lifestyle enhancing garments grounded by respect for the environment,” she says. It’s an ethos that has served her for six years. “Our clothing is designed to serve as key standout essentials that can be mixed-and-matched and built upon. And our muse is a purpose-driven person with a self assured sense of style.” Cashmere polos, swaddling winter coats and flirty lace dresses form part of Après Studio’s base offering, but it’s the label’s range of ruched tops and dresses that has earnt Wilcher somewhat of a cult following. Most recently, Hailey Bieber stepped out in one of Après Studio’s signature bubble dresses in black. Wilcher describes seeing the model in her design as “very validating”.
“We still, to this day, have never engaged or paid for PR,” she explains. “Hailey purchased three dresses of ours online and had them sent to her own house. It’s cool to see somebody of her status purchasing from small businesses, and understanding the vision.”
