HEMP FORTEX

We’re proud to be working with fabrics sourced from Hemp Fortex this season - a goal we have been working towards for a while, honouring our values and respect for the environment.

Hemp Fortex is a leader in textile innovation with vertically integrated manufacturing - from sourcing low-carbon, organic or recycled fibres, spinning the yarn, and knitting and weaving eco-friendly, sustainable fabrics. The company has eco-friendly certifications (GOTS, GRS, RCS, OCS, Bluesign, ISO9001, Fair Trade and BSCI), only use EU approved dyes and chemicals, and carefully monitor and control waste water.

The heart of their commitment to sustainability lies in the installation of solar panels on their factory building. This proactive measure has converted the vast expanse of the factory’s rooftop into a powerhouse of renewable energy and redefined the way the company operations interact with the environment. Electricity generated from the solar panels powers the tools and machinery essential to operations, fostering a self-sustaining cycle of energy efficiency. This not only reduces reliance on external power grids but also translates into cost savings that can be reinvested in further green initiatives.

Fibres used in Hemp Fortex fabrics
Hemp is comfortable, breathable, and cool to the touch, Hemp Fortex use a unique variety called the bast hemp plant which is cultivated in the mountains of Northern China. It is one of the strongest, natural fibres and its antibacterial properties as well as its resistance to UV rays make it ideal for enduring garments.
Cotton has many benefits — comfort, durability, affordability, however, conventional cotton growth releases more toxins into our oceans than any other crop. Hemp Fortex uses only organic cotton which is grown without the use of harmful chemicals or pesticides. Organic cotton keeps our oceans clean, eliminates the allergens found in conventionally grown cotton, and provides our consumers with not only soft and high quality fabric but peace of mind when it comes to their environmental footprint.
A performance fibre that is both strong but soft, Recycled PET is a guarantee easy-care fabric. Breathable on the skin, this textile wicks away moisture from the skin and promises the wearer all-day comfort. Furthermore, using Recycled PET cuts down dependence on petroleum-driven fabrics and reduces landfill by using recycled plastics and water bottles. Textiles created from Recycled PET can be continuously recycled with no degradation of quality.
Made from the dissolved pulp of sustainable wood, TENCEL™ is a high flexibility fabric that can simulate a variety of textures from silk to denim. TENCEL™ is also manufactured with the highest grade of sustainability in mind, using a closed loop production process, high resource efficiency, recycling process water, and reusing solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%.
